NamaazTimes ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by the NamaazTimes mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (e.g., via Google Sign-In or Firebase Authentication).
• Imam Registration: If you register as an Imam, we collect additional details such as the name of the Masjid you lead and your registration status.
• Custom Settings: We store your preferences, such as selected calculation methods, school of thought (Hanafi/Shafi etc.), language, notification preferences, and manual Hijri date adjustments.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Location Data: With your explicit permission, we collect your precise or approximate location (latitude and longitude) to provide accurate, location-based prayer times and Qibla direction. We also use this to automatically determine the most accurate calculation method for your region.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the app's core functionality (prayer times, Qibla direction, Hijri calendar).
• Personalize your experience by saving your preferences and default locations.
• Send you timely notifications for prayers, based on your configured settings.
• Authenticate your account and manage user sessions securely via Firebase.
• Process Imam registration requests and allow verified Imams to update local Masjid timings.

3. Third-Party Services

Our application utilizes third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. These services have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they handle data:

• Google Play Services: Used for core app functionality and location services. Privacy Policy
• Firebase Authentication & Firestore: Used for user login, session management, and storing user/masjid data in the cloud. Privacy Policy
• Aladhan API: Used to fetch global prayer times and Hijri dates. Note: We only transmit your coordinates or selected city/country to this API; no personally identifiable information is shared with them. Privacy Policy

4. Location Data Usage

NamaazTimes requires access to your device's location services to calculate accurate prayer timings and provide Qibla direction.

• Location data is processed locally on your device or transmitted securely to the Aladhan API solely for the purpose of retrieving prayer times.
• We do not track your continuous background location, nor do we sell or share your location history with advertisers or third-party data brokers.

5. Security

We value your trust in providing us with your personal information, and we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. We utilize secure Firebase backend services to encrypt and store data. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable.

6. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.

8. Account Deletion

We respect your right to control your data. If you wish to delete your NamaazTimes account and all associated personal information (including your profile, preferences, and any Masjid registrations), you can do so directly within the app settings or by visiting our dedicated Account Deletion Request Page.

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently remove your data from our active databases within 30 days, except for information we are legally required to retain.
